The disasterous drought in the US ( worst in 60 odd years) has ensured that a high price structure will take us through atleast until the South American Corn and Soybean new crop which will be begin harvesting in April of next year. Hopefully weather conditions will be favourable so that the world can rest a little easier knowing that there will be enough food to go around. Read More.

General tone of the market is weak with Soymeal values steadily falling as the US crop has been harvested( 80% complete). Animal proteins such as Meat and Bone Meal and Feathermeal are falling in price and the seasonal aspect in Australia has seen producers increasing the kill to turn more head into cash before Christmas. European debt issues aren't helping matters perhaps the New Year could see the bottoming of the market??? Read More.

Last few weeks we have seen rain fall precisely when we DON'T need it! In WA most if not all crop cut, a good portion baled up of course and balance lying in the windrow ready for baling. The way it appears there will be little premium quality from there this season. In SA, similar story, but not as much damage at this point in time. Keep you informed. In Vic/NSW so far so good. More details to follow. Read More.

As we are moving from Spring into the Summer period the kill is now in full swing and with the US harvest basically complete all eyes turn to the South American Corn and Soybean Crop. You cant help but feel that there is a good amount of feed around at present however this will be tempered by the close down of rendering plants in ANZ over Christmas and the increase in demand for feed in the North American winter.
